PRESS RELEASE
Newburgh, NY – On June, 11, 2016, at approximately 8:11 a.m., State Police are investigating a one vehicle serious physical injury accident northbound on I-87 north of Exit 17 (Newburgh).
The driver of a Ford Roadster struck the guiderail on the right shoulder and both the driver and passenger were ejected from the vehicle. The driver was air lifted to Westchester Medical Center for serious physical injuries. The passenger was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for minor injuries.
All lanes northbound have been reopened.
The accident is still under investigation as to the cause and more information will be released as it becomes available.
