State Police arrest two for Felony Marijuana charges

On February 20th, 2015 State Police Troop T in Albany arrested two men for felony marijuana possession and felony possession of a forged instruments during a traffic stop on Interstate 87 in the Town of Coxsackie. Luis Vergara, age 45, of Brooklyn was stopped for a traffic violations and during the traffic stop Vergara and his passenger, Derrick Mitchell, age 32, of Poughkeepsie were found to possess over 8 pounds of marijuana. Upon Vergara’s arrest he was found to be in possession of multiple fraudulent driver’s license from multiple states, as well as have outstanding bench warrants issued from New York City.

Vergara was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 2nd (D Felony), Four counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd (D Felony), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A Misdemeanor), False Personation (B Misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (Violation), as well has multiple traffic violations.

Mitchell was arrested for Criminal Possession of Marijuana 2nd (D Felony).

Both subjects were arraigned before Town Justice Wooton in Town of Catskill Court. Vergara was remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $20,000 Cash Bail / $30,000 Secured Bone. Mitchell was remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $2,500 Cash Bail / $5,000 Secure Bond.
