Ruth Boyce Morse, 94, a lifelong resident of Dover Plains, NY died on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Sharon Health Care Center in Sharon, CT. Mrs. Morse worked at the Wassaic Developmental Center for over 30 years retiring in 1978.

Born on May 16, 1922 in Sharon, CT she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Vincent) Boyce. On April 13, 1941 in Amenia, NY she married Albert Morse who predeceased her on March 4, 1988. Mrs. Morse was a member of the J.H. Ketcham Auxiliary and Rescue Squad. She was also a member of the Dover Plains United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Morse is survived by her son, George Morse and his wife, Suzanne, of Clayton, NC; a daughter, Patsy Harrington and her husband, Edward, of Pawling, NY; and a daughter-in-law, Catherine Morse of Latham, NY. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Edward Harrington, Jaret and Christopher Morse and Francine Hodge and three great-grandchildren, Rilley, Kelly and Christopher Morse.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Morse was predeceased by a son, Charles Morse; three sisters, Anna Beers, Nellie Beebe and Muriel Murphy and three brothers, David DeGarmo and Charles and Edson Boyce.

Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
