Obituary, William E. Orser, Jr.

 

William E. Orser, Jr., 96, a longtime area resident formerly of Millwood, NY died on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Sharon Health Care Center in Sharon, CT. Mr. Orser served during WWII for over two years in the U.S. Army Medical Corp. Mr. Orser was a self-employed carpenter for over 50 years.

Born on November 24, 1919 in Millwood, NY he was the son of the late William E. Orser, Sr. and Edith (Young) Orser. Mr. Orser was a graduate of Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, NY class of 1938. On September 6, 1942 in Ossining, NY he married Margaret Hodge who predeceased on March 19, 1990. Mr. Orser was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Orser is survived by three sons, William E. Orser, III of Lake Ariel, PA, David A. Orser and his wife, Gail, of Wingdale, NY and Mark D. Orser, of Wassaic, NY; a daughter, Sharon R. Peterson and her late husband, David, of Red Oaks Mills, NY.; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

A private graveside service and burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Dale Cemetery, 104 Havell Street, Ossining, NY.
