PRESS RELEASE

Millbrook, New York – On May 25, 2016 at approximately 9:30 a.m., the New York State Police from Poughkeepsie responded to the Millbrook High School, located on Church Street, to investigate a threat of school violence.

Following an investigation conducted by the State Police, a 17-year-old student from Clinton Corners, New York, was charged with Making a Terroristic Threat, a Class D Felony.  The arrest stems from the student making a verbal threat of school violence.  At this time, there is no known information indicating a credible threat to the school.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Washington Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $6,000 bond.  He is due to return to the Washington Town Court on June 28, 2016 at 5:00 p.m..
