Wappinger, New York – On May 19, 2016, the New York State Police conclude a month long grand larceny investigation which led to the arrest of three Ulster County residents.  On May 17, 2016, State Police from Wappinger arrested 45-year-old Andre K. Pritchard of Kingston, New York, for Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony.  On May 19, 2016, Michael Demaio, age 46, of Milton, New York, was charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree.  Leann Demaio, 43 years old, of Highland, was arrested on April 28, 2016, and charged with Petit Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor.

In April of 2016, Troopers were dispatched to BJ’s Wholesale Club for a reported larceny.  The store manager reported that that three subjects had stolen a large quantity of razor blades in March and April of 2016.  An investigation revealed that Pritchard and Michael Demaio had stolen more than $8,000 worth of razor blades from the Wappinger wholesale club.  It was also discovered that Leann Demaio had stolen razor blades from the Wappinger BJ’s Store with the two men during that time period.

Leann Demaio was issued an appearance ticket directing her to appear before the Town of Wappinger Justice Court on May 5, 2016.

On May 4, 2016, The Town of Wappinger Justice Court issued a warrant ordering Pritchard’s arrest.  He was subsequently located by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department and turned over to the State Police.  Pritchard was arraigned in the Town of Fishkill Court and released on his own recognizance.  He is due to appear in the Wappinger Court at a later date and time.

Michael Demaio, who was incarcerated at the Putnam County Jail on unrelated charges, was arraigned in the Town of Wappinger Court and turned over to the Ulster County Jail without bail.  Demaio was turned over to the Ulster County Sheriff’s for an active warrant in Ulster County.  The defendant is scheduled to appear in the Town of Wappinger Court at a later date and time.
