Putnam Valley man charged with violating court order of protection

PRESS RELEASE

Putnam Valley, New York – On May 25, 2016, New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Brett Augustowski, age 31, of Putnam Valley, New York, for Criminal Contempt 1stDegree,  a Class E Felony.

On May 25, 2016, Troopers responded to Augustowski’s residence where an investigation revealed he had assaulted the female victim in violation of an active order of protection. Augustowski was also arrested on May 24, 2016, for Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, for harassing the victim in violation of the order of protection.

Augustowski was arraigned at the Putnam Valley Town Court by the Honorable Gina Capone and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. Augustowski is due back in Putnam Town Court on May 31, 2016.
