Obituary, Clarence Barnett

Amenia – Clarence Barnett, 75, a ten year resident of Amenia, NY, formerly of Tarrytown and Yonkers, NY, died February 19, 2015 at Sharon Health Care Center in Sharon, CT, with his loving family by his side. Mr. Barnett retired from General Motors in Tarrytown, NY and drove school bus for the Tarrytown School District and Webutuck Schools in Amenia for several years following his retirement from GM.

Born March 3, 1939 in Tarrytown, NY, he was the son of the late Roseveltt and Helen (Moton) Barnett. He attended Tarrytown Schools. On January 5, 2002 in Yonkers, NY, he married his longtime love, Lucinda D. Williams. Mrs. Barnett died January 25, 2012.

Clarence loved to watch old movies, especially old westerns and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. He also was an avid crab fisherman when he lived in Tarrytown and Yonkers. He was loved by all his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all the children he drove to school every day.

Clarence is survived by his daughter, Rita Barnett, two sons; Timothy and Jerome Barnett, his stepchildren; Crystal and Travis Williams, two brothers; James McDonald and Roseveltt Barnett, Jr. and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife he was also predeceased by a son, Clarence Barnett, Jr.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 12-2pm at 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. Prayers will be offered at 2pm. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2678 South Road # 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
