The Dutchess County Tick Task Force announced today that for 2016, they will host a live event on May 11th at the Wallace Center located on the FDR Estate in Hyde Park, New York.  Workshops will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 p.m.

Chairperson for the Dutchess County Tick Task Force, Assistant Majority Leader Donna Bolner, commented, “Traditionally panel discussions have been in the format of live events, however, we wanted to extend an invitation to residents to select what tick-borne topics they desire to learn more about.”  Last year the DC Tick Task Force hosted a live webinar that was archived and can be accessed through the Dutchess County Legislative website.

In addition, New York State Senator Sue Serino, chairperson of the New York State Task Force on Lyme and Tick-Borne Diseases has partnered for this event.  “With spring in full swing, now is the best time to be raising awareness throughout the community about how to prevent the spread of Lyme and tick-borne diseases,” said Senator Serino. “This event is all about prevention and protection and will arm community members with the information they need to safeguard themselves and their families against Lyme.”
