Patterson Man Charged With Theft of Vehicle recovered in Pawling

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Patterson man on a charge of grand larceny of a motor vehicle.

On Tuesday, February 17, 2015, members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department arrested Christopher W. Scully, 27, of 129 South Lake Drive, Patterson and charged him with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a felony. The arrest resulted from Mr. Scully’s involvement with the theft of a pickup truck from the parking lot of the VFW Hall in Putnam Lake on the evening of February 6, 2015 at approximately 8:30 p.m. The vehicle, a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, was recovered in the parking lot of the Hannaford supermarket on Route 22 in the Town of Pawling.

Mr. Scully was arraigned before Town of Patterson Justice Anthony Mole and was committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000.00 cash or $50,000.00 bond. The investigation is continuing and additional charges are expected.

If found guilty of the felony charge, the defendant could face up to seven years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.00.
