State Police from Wappinger arrest two men following traffic stop

Fishkill, New York – On April 15, 2016, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Dominick P. Dziewiecki, age 18, of Middletown, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a Class D Felony, and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor. Also arrested was John R. McGuire, age 20, of Montgomery, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a Class D Felony, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

On April 15, 2016, at approximately 3:11 a.m., Troopers stopped a vehicle that was driving erratically on Route 52 in the Town of Fishkill. An investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle, Dziewiecki, was impaired by drugs. Dziewiecki and McGuire were additionally charged with unlawfully possessing Alprazolam.

A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) was utilized to confirm the driver’s impairment.

Both subjects were arraigned in the City of Beacon Court. Dziewiecki was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.  McGuire was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $5,000 bond.   They a both scheduled to appear before the Town of Fishkill Court on April 20, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.
