New Jersey Man Arrested on Drug Charges

PRESS RELEASE

On March 19, 2016 the Members of the New York State Police, Troop F, at SP Ellenville, announce the arrest of a male subject for Criminal Possession of  a Controlled Substance in the third degree, a Felony and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation.
Arrested was Alex Malinowski, age 21, of Fair Lawn, New Jersey, who was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
On March 19, 2016, Members of SP Ellenville, observed a 2001 Mercedes Benz SUV, which failed to maintain lane on State Route 299 in the Town of New Paltz, in Ulster County.  The driver was identified as Alex Malinowski.  Further investigation revealed that Malinowski possessed psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana.
Malinowski was arrested and processed at SP Ellenville.  He was arraigned in the Town of Rochester Court before Town Justice Al Babcock, who remanded Malinowski to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond, to re-appear in the Town of New Paltz Court on March 22, 2016 at 4:30 PM.
