Obituary, Marilyn J. McDowell

 

Marilyn J. McDowell 72 of Millbrook passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2016

Marilyn was born at Vassar Brothers Hospital on February 8, 1944 to the late George and Eleanor McLain.  She graduated from Staatsburg Union School in Hyde Park in June of 1962 and was later employed by Feldman Jacobson Abstract for 42 years. On September 17, 1966 Marilyn married Ronald McDowell in Staatsburg, NY.

Marilyn was a very loving and supportive mother, grandmother and friend. She touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed by all.

She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed activities such as golfing, stamping up, dancing and her movie nights at her longtime friend, “Ron” Higgins’ House. She loved going  to lunch at Chili’s with her daughter, Meaghan and having a margarita. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and was was extremely proud of both her son and daughter’s accomplishments.

Marilyn is survived by her beloved children Steven McDowell and his wife Leanne of Dunn Loring, VA; her daughter Meaghan Williamson and her husband Thomas Williamson of Millbrook; her cherished grandchildren Aidan and Evan McDowell and Hunter Williamson; her ex husband Ronald McDowell and his wife Susan McDowell; her dear brother William McLain and his wife Jane McLain as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved family, Marilyn is survived by a countless amount of friends, including her best friend Joan Bender.

Calling hours for Marilyn will be held Thursday March 17, 2016 from 4-8pm at  3270 Franklin Avenue, Millbrook, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday 10 am at Saint Joseph’s Church 15 North Avenue Millbrook, NY. Interment will be private.
