Pound Ridge man charged with felony drug possession following traffic stop

PRESS RELEASE

Southeast, New York – On March 3, 2016, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Forrest T. Rainford, 24 years old, of Pound Ridge, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, a Class D Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

Troopers stopped Rainford on State Route 22 for driving a vehicle with a loud exhaust.    A subsequent investigation revealed that he was in possession of marihuana, concentrated cannabis and cocaine.

Rainford was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court before the Honorable Richard Vercollone and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $3,500 cash bail or $10,000 bond.  He is due to return to Town of Southeast Court on March 8, 2016 at 2:30 p.m.
