State Police arrest two inmates for Prison Contraband

PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police, at Catskill, and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision announce the arrests of the following NYS DOCCS Inmates for charges stemming from incidents that occurred within the Greene Correctional Facility.

VICTOR RODRIGUEZ, age 19, was arrested for 1 count of Promoting Prison Contraband in the First degree, a class D Felony. This arrest was based upon an incident that occurred at Greene Correctional facility on 07/20/15, where RODRIGUEZ was found to possess dangerous contraband consisting of a sharpened can lid type metal cutting weapon on his person while confined to the Facility.

PATRICK DESTINE, age 18, was arrested for 1 count of Promoting Prison Contraband in the First degree, a class D Felony. This arrest was based upon an incident that occurred at Greene Correctional Facility on 10/14/15 . DESTINE was found to possess dangerous contraband consisting of a sharpened can lid type cutting weapon on his person while confined to the Facility.

Both of the above defendants were brought before the County Court of Greene County after the cases were presented to the Grand Jury by the Greene County District Attorney’s office, which resulted in sealed indictments. The above defendants were all arrested and arraigned before Greene County Court Judge TERRY WILHELM, and were remanded back to the custody of NYS DOCCS pending further court proceeding and were to return at a later date.
