Hudson man charged with felony drug possession

Kinderhook, New York – On February 13, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Livingston barracks arrested Daniel M. Gonzalez, 22 years old, of Hudson, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree with Intent to Sell, a Class B Felony, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

On the evening of February 13, 2015, Troopers conducted a fixed sobriety check-point on State Route 9 in the Town of Kinderhook. A vehicle traveling northbound on State Route 9 entered the check-point and Troopers immediately observing the odor of marihuana emanating from the vehicle. The driver was ordered to move the vehicle off to the side of the roadway for further investigation.

Utilized a New York State Police K-9, it was discovered Gonzalez, a passenger in the vehicle, was in possession of heroin.

Subsequent to a detailed investigation, Gonzalez was found to possess approximately 54 glassine envelopes containing heroin and a small amount of marihuana.

Gonzalez was arraigned before the Town of Kinderhook Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail.
