Saugerties, NY man arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated

PRESS RELEASE

Tuxedo, NY – On January 31, 2016, at approximately 5:07 a.m., State Police stopped a slow moving vehicle driving on the shoulder of I-87 after receiving a report of a hit and run accident. The driver of the vehicle, Carlos H. Castaneda, 31, of Saugerties, NY, was found to be intoxicated.  His vehicle was heavily damaged and both airbags were deployed.  Castaneda was transported and processed at SP Newburgh, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.18%.  He was subsequently charged with:

  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor

Castaneda was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Tuxedo Court on February 25, 2016 at 4:00 p.m.
