Amenia man charged with having sexual contact with minor

Dover, New York – On January 18, 2016, New York State Police from Dover Plains arrested Michael Azzarito, 18 years old, of Amenia, New York, for Criminal Sexual Act in the 2^nd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor.

A State Police Investigator from the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center was assigned to assist the Dover Plains barracks with a reported sexual offense.  Following an investigation it was discovered that Azzarito engaged in sexual conduct with a child who was less than fifteen years old.

Azzarito was arraigned in the Town of Dover Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.  He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Dover Justice Court at a later date and time.
