Senator Terrence P. Murphy will be hosting a Heroin and Opiate Abuse Forum on Tuesday February 24, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Lathrop Building at Lakeside Park 2 Lakeside Drive Pawling, NY 12564.
Senator Terrence P. Murphy, Co-Chair of the Senate Joint Task Force on Heroin and Opioid Addiction, invites you to attend an important community forum in Pawling, “Prescription Drugs and Heroin: What Our Community and Schools Need to Know.”
A panel of experts will give our families:
· The information they need for prevention strategies
· Treatment and overdose prevention options
· Information on how prescription drug abuse can lead to misuse, heroin use and addiction
· An update on current enforcement and legal activities to reduce heroin and illegal prescription drug sales
Senator Murphy will also highlight his 7-point plan to fight the war on heroin and elicit feedback from community members to help craft legislation needed to implement the plan.
