State Police arrest two on drug charges in Catskill

On December 9, 2015, the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) in conjunction with members of the New York State Police Troop F, Troop K, Troop T, the City of Hudson Police Department and the United States Probation Office, Northern District of New York conducted a narcotics investigation which resulted in a traffic stop of a vehicle on State Route 23 in the Town of Catskill, New York. A subsequent search of the vehicle located approximately 1 kilogram of cocaine with an estimated street value of $100,000.00 and $5,700.00 in U.S. currency.   The following subjects were arrested for the indicated charges:

Jamaal JOHNSON, age 38, of 22 Crockett Avenue, Troy, N.Y.
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (cocaine) class A-1 felony

LaQuasha BOWLES, age 26, of 15 North 5th Street, Hudson, N.Y.
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (cocaine) class A-1 felony
Unlawful Possession of Marihuana
Vehicle and Traffic Law violations

Both subjects were arraigned before Town of Catskill Justice William R. Jacobs and remanded to the Greene County Jail with no bail.
