MILLBROOK – George Kenneth Peters, a resident of Millbrook passed peacefully at home on Monday, Oct. 19th. Born over a century ago in Brooklyn, N.Y., “Ken” was the son of Adam Harry Peters and Ida May (Rankin) Peters. Ken served his country with distinction in World War II as a First Marine Raider on Guadalcanal. Edison’s Raiders were on an extraordinary group of servicemen who changed the face of history. Ken married the love of his life, Margaret M. Brogan in 1950. “Peg” and “Ken” were inseparable for the next 64 years. Their dedication to each other was an inspiration to all who came to know them. An executive with Mobil Oil Company, Ken was an avid golfer, a dedicated Cubs fan and a loving, concerned uncle. Long after his brother Harry Edward passed on, Ken remained close to his sister-in-law, Rhea and later her husband, Al as well. Ken was committed to his nieces Sandra and Karen, his nephew-in-law, William and his nephew, Robert. As their families grew, Ken loved spending time with and learning of the experiences of his great-nieces and nephews, Heather, Dawn, Heidi, Bob and Avanti as well as their children Emily, Davis, Jennah, Hannah, Grace, Julia and the newest addition to the family Analese. In their later years, Ken and Peg lived at the Fountains at Millbrook and were cared for by Hafsàtu Ali.

The entire family expresses their enormous gratitude for the loving care she has provided to them. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23 at the Church of St. Joseph, 15 North Avenue, Millbrook, N.Y.
