Obituary, Levin J. Reynolds

 

Levin J. Reynolds, 85, died Thursday October 15, 2015 at Robinson Terrace, Stamford, NY surrounded in love by his children.

Born December 4, 1929 in Danbury CT, he was the son of James and Ruth (Brill) Reynolds.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Elaine (Brown) Reynolds. Levin and Elaine resided in Pawling for 32 years then in Worcester NY.  Levin served in the United States Navy on the USS Wasp during the Korean War, and was a Corrections Officer at Green Haven Prison for 28 years.

In addition to his wife & parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Amy Jill Reynolds in 1962, as well as seven siblings.

He is survived by his children, Joan & Scott Beattie, Jay & Tracy Reynolds, Joy & Larry Musella, Lori McGrath, Roberta & Jack Colby. He is also survived by his numerous grandchildren, Melissa Beattie, Nathaniel Reynolds, Kensley Reynolds, Nicholas Musella, Michael Musella, Jay Musella, James Musella, Erin Empie, Patricia French, Thomas McGrath, Jack Colby, and Amy Colby; his great-grandchildren Oliver Empie, McKenzie Empie, Blake Empie, Lyla French, Laith Musella, and Elaine McGrath; and his sisters Isabel Reynolds (Pawling) and Estelle Seeley (Virginia).

Levin was adored by his immediate and extended family and was often referred to as “Uncle Sonny”.  We will miss his “inside jokes”, quick wit, and occasional prank at our expense.  He will be remembered for his happy spirit and infectious smile.

Family and friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY Sunday, October 18th from 1-2 PM, with a funeral service at the funeral home at 2 PM.  Burial will immediately follow at Pawling Cemetery.
