Letter To The Editor

One of the hardest-fought battles during my time in the NYS Senate was to get legislation passed creating a new Family Court Judge seat for Dutchess County. Family Court plays a vital role in helping families work through very difficult circumstances, and we are fortunate to have Lisa Ghartey, an exceptionally qualified candidate, running for Family Court Judge.

Lisa Ghartey has served asĀ Assistant Attorney General in the Litigation Bureau of the New York State Office of the Attorney General. In 2011, Lisa was appointed Assistant Commissioner of Child Welfare and Community Services of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, where she presently works.

Lisa Ghartey is a member of the NYS Court Improvement Project, a federal program designed to build collaboration between child welfare and family courts in an effort to improve outcomes for the children and families we serve.

Lisa has stepped forward to serve her community in this most important capacity. She is clearly qualified to work in many other less-stressful positions, but I am very appreciative that she is pursuing this one. Lisa’s experience is exactly what we need and I encourage everyone to vote for Lisa Ghartey for Dutchess County Family Court on Novemeber 3. Learn more about Lisa visitĀ LisaGhartey2015.com.
