Troop K announces the promotion or re-classification of several influential leaders

Pleasant Valley, New York – The New York State Police has a history of producing superior law enforcement professionals that demonstrate the values of honor and integrity. Troop K would like to congratulate the following members on their recent promotions or new assignments that are effective February 12, 2015.

Captain Kenneth H. Luttman entered the New York State Police Academy in April of 1994. Captain Luttman served the Troop K Bureau of Criminal Investigation since 2013 as a Lieutenant. Luttman has been promoted to the rank of Captain and is leaving Troop K for the Southern Regional Office of the Internal Affairs Bureau.

Captain Dominick L. Chiumento, a 24-year veteran of the State Police, assumed the position of Zone Commander for Zone Two, based in Wappinger. Zone Two encompasses Dutchess County and the Northern Putnam County area. Captain Chiumento previously served the State Police as Captain in Troop NYC.

Captain James C. Michael, a 20-year veteran of the New York State Police, has been named the Troop K Uniform Captain effective on February 12, 2015. Prior to Captain Michael’s assignment in Troop K, he served the Internal Affairs Bureau.

Lieutenant Nicholas A. Banbury, a 17-year veteran of the State Police, has assumed the position of Lieutenant in the Troop K Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Lieutenant Banbury previously served Troop K as the Zone Two Lieutenant, assigned at the SP Wappinger barracks.

Lieutenant Kathryn M. Rohde, a 15-year veteran of the New York State Police has been assigned as the Zone Two lieutenant. Zone two covers Dutchess and the Northern Putnam County area. Lieutenant Rohde comes to Troop K from the Computer Crimes Unit where she served as Lieutenant.

Troop K would like to wish Captain Robert A. Willis, who will now serve as Captain in Troop NYC, the best of luck in his new assignment.
