Patterson Man Charged With DWI

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Patterson man on a charge of DWI.

On September 14, 2015 at 12:24 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Frederick Mark stopped a motorist who had committed traffic violations on Route 22 in the Town of Southeast.

The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Joseph P. DiPaolo, 51, of 37 Overlin Road, Patterson was intoxicated. The deputy arrested Mr. DiPaolo and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after the man failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant faces up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
