$20,000 in Clothing Stolen from Alo Store in Georgetown

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A brazen theft at the Alo Yoga store in Georgetown on Monday evening resulted in the loss of at least $20,000 worth of merchandise, prompting a heightened police presence in the popular shopping district.

What Happened

According to D.C. police, six suspects entered the Alo store around 7:30 p.m. and quickly began removing items from the display racks. The group then fled the scene in what authorities believe was a silver or gray Ford Edge. The vehicle was last seen heading in an unknown direction along Wisconsin Avenue NW.

The theft, which took place in full view of customers and bystanders, was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media. The footage shows the suspects grabbing armfuls of merchandise and running out of the store within moments.

Ongoing Investigation

D.C. police estimate that approximately $20,000 worth of clothing was stolen during the incident. In response, law enforcement has increased foot patrols in the Georgetown area, which is known for its high-end retail stores.

Surveillance photos of the suspects have been released in hopes that the public may assist in identifying those involved. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.

Community Concerns

Witnesses say there was no visible police presence at the time of the robbery, despite Georgetown’s reputation for tight security due to the concentration of luxury stores. This has raised concerns among both shoppers and business owners about the effectiveness of current safety measures.

The Alo incident is the latest in a series of high-profile retail thefts in the region. Earlier this year, similar robberies occurred at the Lululemon store and another retail outlet near Oatland Park.

Authorities are calling on the community to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity. The investigation remains active, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
