A quiet Friday night in Southeast Washington, D.C. turned into a scene of tragedy as a shooting claimed two young lives and left a 14-year-old boy in critical condition. Authorities have launched a double homicide investigation as the city reels from another act of senseless violence.
At approximately 10:19 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 4200 block of 4th Street, Southeast. Upon arrival, police discovered three young male victims lying in the roadway with gunshot wounds. The incident has shocked the local community and intensified the focus on youth-related gun violence in the capital.
Victims Identified
Two of the victims, 16-year-old Royell Walker and 19-year-old Jamar Jackson, both residents of Southeast D.C., were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities were confirmed by the Metropolitan Police Department. A third victim, a 14-year-old boy, was rushed to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
The names and conditions of the victims have prompted a wave of grief across the community, especially as all three were teenagers or young adults. Families and neighbors gathered over the weekend to mourn the loss and pray for the 14-year-old’s recovery.
Investigation Underway
