County to Host Workshop for Millions in
State Funding on June 18th
Local businesses, not-for-profits, municipalities encouraged to attend
Poughkeepsie, NY… Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro encourages representatives from Dutchess County businesses, educational institutions, not-for-profits and local governments to participate in a special information session about the 2015 Consolidated Funding Application process and the new Upstate Revitalization Initiative (URI) onThursday, June 18th at 9 a.m. at the Marist College boathouse. The Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) is single point of entry for access to millions of dollars in economic development funding, from multiple funding sources from New York State. The Upstate Revitalization Initiative is a new program introduced this year by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo to award seven Upstate regions, including the Mid-Hudson, with up to $130 million in URI funding, based on “Revitalization Plans” submitted by each region.
The information session is being hosted by Dutchess County in partnership with the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council and Empire State Development Corporation, and will be presented by Meghan Taylor, Regional Director for the Empire State Development Mid-Hudson Regional Office.
County Executive Molinaro said, “Our Deputy Commissioner for Strategic Planning and Development, Ron Hicks, a member of the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council, is once again working on identifying critical projects throughout the county. We will continue to work directly with applicants to ensure they are as well prepared as possible and we can continue to bring the maximum amount of state funding to Dutchess County.”
There is approximately $750 million available in economic development funding in Round V of the Consolidated Funding Application process from more than 20 state agencies, including Empire State Development, Environmental Facilities Corporation and the New York Power Authority. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, July 31st.

• Direct Assistance to Businesses and Other Organizations
• Community Development
• Waterfront Revitalization
• Energy
• Environmental Improvements
• Sustainability Planning and Implementation
• Education/Workforce Development
• Low Cost Financing
Last year, Dutchess County’s efforts to assist and coordinate CFA applicants helped the Mid Hudson Regional Economic Development Council win the Top Performer Award and secure the most money in the state – $82.9 million for 118 projects.
