Obituary, Jane Huber

 

Rhinebeck – Jane Spohr Silvernail Huber, 91, of Rhinebeck and a former longtime Pleasant Valley resident, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck.

Born December 8, 1927 in Rockville Centre, NY, she was the daughter of the late George F. Spohr and Olive M. Neu Spohr. She spent her formative years in the Albany area, later moving to the Stanfordville area. She was a graduate of Pine Plains High School.

Jane worked at IBM, Poughkeepsie for many years until her retirement.

Mrs. Huber was an active member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star Shekomeko Chapter #815 in Pleasant Valley.

She loved to cook, especially trying new recipes, for her family and friends. She enjoyed learning even in her later years and could often be heard quoting “Dr. Phil’s” philosophies!

Jane was predeceased by her first husband, Stanley Silvernail, and her second husband, Louis Huber.

Survivors include her daughter, Leslie Butler, and husband, Michael, of Poughkeepsie; step-daughter, Carol Cypher, and husband Jay, of Esopus; four grandchildren, Nicole Alston of Poughkeepsie, Amy Gray and husband, Lloyd, of Poughkeepsie, and Connor and Cory Silvernail, both of Red Hook; three great-grandchildren, Janae and Jace Alston, and Aubrey Gray; sister, Georgiana Armond of Springfield, PA; two brothers, Donald Spohr, of Pine Plains and James Spohr, and wife Regina, of Rhinebeck; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many long-time friends who will miss her chatty phone calls and updates.

In addition to her husbands, Jane is predeceased by her son, Brian Silvernail; sister, Olive Liguore; and three brothers, Richard, Robert, and Thomas Spohr.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
