Historical program in Pine Plains on Nov. 30

Please join the Little Nine Partners Historical Society on November 30, 7-8 pm at the Pine Plains Community Center, 7775 South Main St., as Neil Murray gives a presentation which will focus on the material culture of the World War I soldier. Clothing, gear, weapons, and accouterments, as well as personal items, will be discussed and displayed.  A soldier of the First World War will come to life as Mr. Murray will be wearing and demonstrating how to wear and use the various items that were essential to the American Expeditionary Force.  General Pershing’s Doughboys will “walk out the pages of a history book” and into the library as participants will be able to interact with a fully equipped reenactor.  Mr. Murray is an Educator and Military Historian teaches high school United States History & Military History in Pine Plains, is a Military Historian with the Living History Education Foundation, Adjunct Professor Castleton University, and Military History Consultant at Marist College and the United States Military Academy at West Point. This program is free and refreshments will be served.
