New York man arrested for possession of Heroin subsequent to a traffic stop.

Newburgh, NY – On October 17, 2018, at approximately 11:40 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on U.S. 9W, in the town of Newburgh for several traffic violations. During the interviewing of the driver in regards to the traffic violations, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants were established. During the searching, the vehicle’s passenger Cody A. Suitter, age 22, of Accord, NY multiple glassine envelopes containing approximately 4.17 grams of Heroin were located. Suitter was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Newburgh and subsequently charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree; a Class B Felony (with intent to sell)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree; a Class C Felony
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violations (driver only)
Suitter was arraigned in the Town of Newburgh Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1500. Cash or $2500. Bond. A return court date of October 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. has been set in the Town of Newburgh Court. The driver of the vehicle was issued traffic tickets and released without further charges.
