On October 16th 2018 at approximately 10:26 PM, Officers were dispatched to a residence on State Route 82 for the report of vandals inside the residence. The residence, which was temporarily inhabitable, was being monitored by the homeowner. While Officers were en route to the call, further information was received that a male had fled the residence. Several Officers responded to the area of the residence and set up a perimeter. The suspect was then located on the property of the East Fishkill Community Center by Sergeant Paul Gaston with the assistance of Police Officers Justino Bermudez and Stephen Costello. An investigation revealed The suspect, Ricky D. Dunbar, age 38, from East Fishkill, had broken into the residence and attempted to steal multiple items which belonged to the Homeowner. Mr. Dunbar was charged with Burglary 2nd, Possession of Burglar Tools and attempted Petit Larceny. Mr. Dunbar was processed and arraigned by the Honorable Judge Brian Rudner. Mr. Dunbar was remanded to Dutchess County Jail on $10,000.00 cash/ $20,000.00 bond pending a future court date.
