Obituary, Arey Bradford Golding Sr.

Arey Bradford Golding Sr. went to meet the Lord on October 8, 2018, at the age of 100+ surrounded by his loving family.  He was born December 6, 1917, in Danforth, Maine. He was predeceased by his parents Bradford and Goldie Golding, his wife and mother of his children Beatrice Brennan, sister Phillis Springer, Evelyn Harriman, Charlotte Wright, grandson John Golding Jr., son in law Robert Brill, stepdaughter Paula Remury.  He is survived by his second wife Elizabeth Golding of Danforth ME., two sons Arey Golding Jr. and wife Ruth of Smyrna Mills, ME, John Golding Sr. and wife Ellie of Craryville, NY, two daughters, Elizabeth Brill of Poultney, VT,  and Sally Price and Bill of Tupper Lake, NY, he also leaves two stepsons, Fred Gillis and wife Joy of Danforth, ME, Barry Gillis and Carrie of Danforth, ME; 9 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren, a sister, Mary Irish of Houlton, ME, several nieces and nephews. And many dear friends. Arey enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, Sunday dinners, berry picking, and doing things with his cousin Chick.  He entered the Army in 1941 and was a World War II Vet, being discharged in 1947.  He worked in Maine, then moved to Wingdale, NY and worked at Harlem Valley Psych Center. He also worked a second job at Hunts Country Furniture, retiring in 1981 where he moved back to his hometown, Danforth ME.  He is a lifelong member of the American Legion post 45 of Danforth, a lifelong member of the VFW in Mattawamkeag, and a member of the local Grange.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Legion 45 of Danforth, ME. Graveside services will be held on October 20, 2018, at Hilltop Cemetery, Danforth, ME at 1:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held immediately after the service at the American Legion Hall, Danforth ME.

The family would like to say thank you to the wonderful staff at Houlton Regional Hospital for the loving care they provided for our loving husband and father.
