Lagrange, New York – October 11, 2018, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on State Route 55 in the town of Lagrange at approximately 6:30 a.m.

Initial investigation suggests a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle being operated at a high rate of speed struck a 2017 GMC Acadia.  Both vehicles were eastbound on State Route 55 near Noxon Road.  The motorcycle operator, Kevin A. Sheehan, age 25, of Poughkeepsie, NY, was ejected from the motorcycle.  Responding Troopers began life saving measures upon arrival to the scene until Lagrange Fire Department members took over.  Sheehan was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the on-duty Emergency Room physician.

The State Police were assisted on scene by the Troop K Collision Reconstruction Unit, Dutchess County Sherriff’s Office, Lagrange Fire Department, and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office.
