Two Charged in Connection with Milan Area Burglaries

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrests of Kyle C. Coon (age 23 of Milan) and Jon T. Holt (age 27 of Germantown) in connection with recent residential burglaries which occurred in the Town of Milan and surrounding areas between the dates of 9/22/18 and 9/27/18.

Both men were arrested on 10/4/18; Mr. Coon was already in the Dutchess County Jail for a probation violation, and Mr. Holt was arrested in Germantown. Mr. Coon was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, which is a misdemeanor. Mr. Holt was charged with one count each of Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Burglary in the 3rd Degree, both felonies, as well as three counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree. The burglary charges (for Holt) were in the Town of Milan, and all other charges are in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Mr. Holt was arraigned before the Town of Milan Court, released to the supervision of probation, and is due to be arraigned on his other charges in the Town of Poughkeepsie on 10/23/18. Mr. Coon remains in the Dutchess County Jail on the probation violation, and is also due to be arraigned on his charges in the Town of Poughkeepsie on 10/23/18.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau assisted by the Field Intelligence Unit, and a significant amount of alleged stolen property has been recovered. As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations, and both Mr. Coon and Mr. Holt are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
