Cortlandt man arrested for narcotics sale

Cortlandt, New York – On September 12, 2018 the New York State Police Troop K Community Narcotics Enforcement Team along with New York State Police BCI and Uniform members, arrested Charles Leonard, age 44, of Cortlandt, for 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd , 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd with intent to sale, Criminal Possession of Weapon 3rd and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.

State Police Investigators arrested Leonard on a vehicle and traffic stop subsequent to a narcotics investigation. During the traffic stop Leonard intentionally struck two marked State Police units, and was taken into custody without further incident. At the time of arrest, Leonard was found to possess 27.9 grams of cocaine and U.S. currency. A search warrant was executed on Leonard’s residence where 33.7 grams of cocaine and loaded Glock 26 9mm was located.

Leonard was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail without bail.
