Reynolds Nabs SUNYAC Athlete of the Week

OSWEGO, NY (09/26/2018)– CORTLAND, N.Y. — Oswego State’s Katie Reynolds of Pawling has been honored by the school’s conference affliate. The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Oswego State’s Katie Reynolds as its Field Hockey Offensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 23.

Reynolds notched a career-high four goals in the team’s 4-3 victory over the Brockport Golden Eagles on Saturday. With this victory, she now leads the team in goals (10) and points (22), while being tied for first in program history for most goals in a single game (4).

Alyssa DeMichael tallied the only assist in the game, as she passed the ball through several defensive players, to Reynolds who was waiting in front of the goalkeeper. The other three of the senior’s goals came unassisted, as she was able to collect a few rebounds for put back tallies.

The Pawling, N.Y. native is currently ranked fifth in program history for career-goals with 24, despite having spent her first year of eligibility at St. Thomas Aquinas. She is also ranked fourth in the nation in both points per game (3.67) and goals per game (1.67).

Reynolds and the Lakers return to action on Wednesday as they travel to nationally-ranked Cortland for a 4 p.m. start.
