VOB FIlm Festival To Host First Horror Film Festival

A scarefest of classic horror and independent film awaits Putnam County horror film lovers in October!

The VOB Film Festival has partnered with Hudson Valley Horror Fiends and Carmel Cinema to have the first House of Horror Film Festival on October 21st from 6-10pm.

The Night of Horror will be the VOB Film Festival’s first foray into showing a full session of horror movies and it has a great line up of film for this introduction.  The night’s feature presentation will be the 50th anniversary showing of George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead. This staple of zombie horror will be shown in advance of a 600 theater nationwide two-day limited run – and only in Putnam County.

The House of Horror Film Festival will also include two hours of independent film.  “We were very excited when Hudson Valley Horror Fiends approached us about this project.  To be able to combine such a staple of horror with independent film is a great opportunity,” says Bob Dumont of the VOB Film Festival.

Hudson Valley Horror Fiends is a led by Heather Powderly, who chairs an enthusiastic group of horror lovers of film and books.  “This has been a great endeavor for us and we hope Putnam County supports us in this really exciting undertaking.”

The Horror festival has space available for a limited number of vendors. For those that are interested, please contact Bob at 845-729-5107 or email at info@vobfilmfestival.com for a vendor application.

The House of Horror festival will take place at Carmel Cinema on Sunday, October 21st from 6PM-10PM. Tickets can be purchased at http://VOBFilmFestival.com.
