Obituary, Robert A. Muller

Robert A. Muller, 80, a resident of Pawling, NY since 1973, lost his battle with cancer and peacefully passed away September 11, 2018, at New Milford Hospital, New Milford, CT.

Born in Jersey City, NJ on March 8, 1938, he was the son of the late Adolf and Charlotte (Spreemann) Muller and spent his childhood in Elmhurst, Queens, NY. He was the Boy Scout leader for the church sponsored troop at St. Jacobus Lutheran Church in Woodside, NY.  His pastor introduced him to Nina Kline who became his wife on November 8, 1969; she resides at home.

Bob commuted and worked over 35 years as a security design engineer for Holmes Protection in NYC.  He would say, “I retired twice,” after leaving his job as a Sears paint and hardware manager.  He was also their best customer and enjoyed a hunt for old tools.  Bob was active in the community with his wife and children, Kristin and Kurt.  He used his vacation time helping the Lutheran Church of Christ the King build their new church and spent many years on the Church Council.    He coached Little League, was past president of the Pawling Fish & Game Club, the Pawling Carving Club, and the Hudson Valley Carving Club.  Wood carving became his passion.  Fishing and archery were two of the many outdoor sports he loved in the Hudson Valley.

In addition to his wife, Nina, Bob is survived by his children, Kurt Muller and wife MaryKate of Ulster Park and Kristin Muller and her husband Ronald Starrett of Rifton, NY; grandchildren, Ian and Samantha Muller; sister Charlotte Anne Martin; and nephews Thomas and Andrew.
