Poughkeepsie man arrested for felony drug possession

PRESS RELEASE
Poughkeepsie, New York – On September 11, 2018, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Anthony A. Haylett, age 31, of Poughkeepsie, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to sell, a class B felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, a class D felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, both class A misdemeanors.

Troopers responded to Orchard Street to assist the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department with a domestic incident occurring in a vehicle at approximately 1:55 p.m.  The 2010 Mercedes-Benz S550 was located, and while interviewing the occupants, multiple glassine envelopes used to package heroin were observed in plain view.  Further investigation found Haylett was in possession of approximately 3.5 grams of crack-cocaine, 0.51 grams of heroin, 2 grams of Suboxone, scales, plastic packaging bags, a box of glassine envelopes, and a glass pipe used to smoke crack-cocaine.

Haylett was arraigned before the town of Wappinger Court, and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.  Haylett was next scheduled to appear before the city of Poughkeepsie Court on September 12, 2018, at 9:30 a.m.
