State Police investigation fatal crash in Somers

PRESS RELEASE
Somers, New York – On September 11, 2018, the New York State Police investigated a fatal one car motor vehicle crash on State Route 116 in the town of Somers.

Initial investigation suggests a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by William S. Jackson, aged 63 years, of Mount Vernon, was westbound on State Route 116 when he lost control of the vehicle.  The vehicle left the roadway via the north shoulder, struck a concrete wall, and then overturned.  Mr. Jackson was extricated from the vehicle by Somers Fire Department, and pronounced deceased on scene by Westchester Paramedics.

This investigation remains on-going.

Along with the State Police the following agencies and details responded: Somers Fire Department, Westchester EMS, Westchester Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Troop K Collision Reconstruction Unit.
