BARB JUNGR RETURNS TO THE ANCRAM OPERA HOUSE

SATURDAY AUG. 18

“One of the world’s great cabaret singers” – Time Out New York

Building on the runaway success of her celebrated show Hard Rain: The Songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, cabaret artist Barb Jungr returns to the Ancram Opera House on Aug. 18 in Come Together: The Songs of the Beatles, accompanied by acclaimed arranger and vocalist John McDaniel. The show will begin at 8:30 pm.

Based on their 2016 album of the same name, Come Together is a beautifully arranged and artful reinvention of songs from the iconic Beatles catalog. It was shortlisted as one of the Best Duo Shows of 2015 by broadwayworld.com. Jungr and McDaniel were shortlisted as the best Vocal Duo or Group by the MAC Awards in 2016.

The Village Voice, in reviewing Come Together, wrote “The twosome find a different depth in the repertoire that even songwriters Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison didn’t reach.”

Barb Jungr is an acclaimed jazz and cabaret singer who has become best known for her work with, or “interpretations” of, the songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, Jacques Brel, The Beatles and, most recently, Sting. John McDaniel is a pianist, singer, arranger and partner in banter who has accompanied Betty Buckley, Tyne Daly, Brooke Shields and Patti LuPone, among others.
