Stanfordville Man Charged With Felony Burglary

On Thursday August 2nd 2018 at approximately 12:15 pm the Red Hook Police Department responded to a report of a physical dispute at a residence in the Village of Red Hook. Upon investigation, police determined that John J. Mitchell, 52 of Standfordville had forcefully entered a residence and struck a female victim while a young child was present. Mitchell was taken into custody without incident and was charged with Burglary, a felony, as well as endangering the welfare of a child and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors, and the violation of physical harassment. Mitchell was arraigned in the Village of Red Hook court where he was sent to Dutchess County Jail on $10,000 bail.
