Florida man arrested for possession of two loaded handguns

Mamaroneck, NY – On August 5, 2018, at approximately 3:15 a.m., State Police stopped to assist a possible disabled vehicle on I-95, in the village of Mamaroneck. During the Trooper’s interview of the driver probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. The driver Jeffrey J. Colburn, age 51, of Port Orange, FL, was found to be in possession of a loaded Glock Model #27, handgun, along with a loaded SCCY Model# CPX-2 handgun. Also located during the search was approximately 4 grams of cocaine and (1) Fentanyl Transdermal 50 mcg/hr. strip. Colburn was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Hawthorne where he was subsequently charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree; a Class C Felony (loaded handgun) 2-counts
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree; a Class C Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Vehicle and Traffic violation
Colburn was arraigned in the Village of Mamaroneck Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000. Cash or $20,000. Bond. A return court date of August 9, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. has been set in the Village of Mamaroneck Court.
