Kenneth Morris

Kenneth J. Morris, 75, a Dover Plains resident since 1999, died on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, NY. Mr. Morris was a New York City firefighter for 32 years retiring in 1998.

Born on August 19, 1942, in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Richard and Helen (Krukar) Morris. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Morris was a two-time Olympian athlete in Bobsled competitions in 1968 in Grenoble, France and in 1972 in Sapporo, Japan. He was a member of the Harlem Valley Car Club. He was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains.

Mr. Morris is survived by his domestic partner, Susan Brewster of Dover Plains and a brother, Richard Morris of Dover Plains.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Mill St., Dover Plains, NY. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Dover Plains. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2678 South Rd., Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
