Obituary, Linda Mae (Spaulding) Hamlin

Millerton – Linda Mae (Spaulding) Hamlin, 75, a loving wife, mother and grandmother and lifelong area resident died Monday, July 30, 2018, at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, CT. Linda spent many years as a housewife in addition to working for B&D in Canaan, CT, Wassaic Developmental Center in Wassaic, NY, and most recently at Flood’s Sanitation Service in Millerton, NY, she retired in 2008.

Born March 20, 1943, in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Willard A. and Alice I. (Coons) Spaulding. Linda was a graduate of local area schools. On September 11, 1999, in Millerton, NY, she married David L. Hamlin, Sr. Mr. Hamlin survives at home. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed knitting and sewing, assembling crafts, family history, and genealogy, reading; especially Amish stories and the obituaries, and most recently fell in love with digit solitaire.

In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by her children, Mary and Doug Benjamin of Oneonta, NY, Melanie and Patrick Barlow of Dover Plains, NY, Paul and Donna Germond of Copake, NY, Melissa Darling of Craryville, NY and David, Jr. and Heather Hamlin of Newton, KS; a brother, Robert Spaulding; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and many friends. A sister, Dorothy Lupi predeceased her.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 10am-12pm at  37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. Funeral service will take place at 12 pm at the funeral home. A reception in Linda’s honor will follow. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Millerton Fire Company, P.O. Box 733, Millerton, NY 12546.
