Obituary, Chadd Michael Ackerman

Wassaic – Chadd Michael Ackerman, 37, a lifelong area resident died Saturday, July 21, 2018, at his home in Wassaic. Chadd worked for New York State as a developmental assistant one (DA1) supervisor at Taconic DDSO in Wassaic for over eight years.

Born October 15, 1980, in Sharon, CT he was the son of the late Randy and Margaret E. (Boyles) Ackerman who survives in Wassaic. Chadd attended Dutchess County BOCES where he excelled in small engine repair. He was a 1999 graduate of Webutuck High School in Amenia, NY. On April 28, 2016, in Amenia, he married Crystal Robert. Mrs. Ackerman survives in Wassaic. Chadd was a member of the CSEA and a former member of the Wassaic Fire Company. He enjoyed watching football and baseball in his spare time and was an avid San Francisco 49ers and Boston Red Sox fan. He will dearly be missed by his loving family and many friends.

In addition to his wife and mother, Chadd is survived by three children, Faith, Grace and Landen Ackerman and two stepchildren, Ashton and Morgan Lobert; his sister, Jessica Ackerman of Wassaic, his aunt Judith and uncle Sherrill Curtis of Amenia; his uncles, Robert Boyles(Carolyn) of Wassaic and Gary Boyles of Dover Plains; his cousin, Russell Boyles of Wassaic and his good friends, Andy and Justin Butts of Wassaic and Russell Johnson of South Carolina. In addition to his father, he was also predeceased by his beloved grandparents Robert “Big Bob” and Beverly Boyles of Wassaic.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018, from 5-7: 30 pm at 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. A funeral service will take place at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Rev. Clarice Murphy will officiate. Cremation will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ackerman Children’s Educational Fund, P.O. Box 240, Wassaic, NY 12592.
