Obituary, Laverne G. “Butch” Spaulding

 

Millerton – Laverne G. “Butch” Spaulding, 73, a longtime area resident, died peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at his home in Millerton, NY, with his loving family at his side. Butch worked as a professional automotive detailer for Sharon Auto Body in Sharon, CT for over thirty years prior to his retirement.

Born June 8, 1945, in Cobleskill, NY, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Norma (Elliott) Spaulding and was educated in Cobleskill area schools. On November 1, 1969, in Pine Plains, NY, he married Jacqueline C. Killmer. Mrs. Spaulding survives at home.

In addition to his wife, Butch is survived by two daughters, Norma Spaulding and Betty Spaulding both of Millerton; two grandchildren, Courtney Hernandez and her husband Chris of Millerton and William Spaulding of Millerton and two step-grandsons, Robbie Klippel of Amenia, NY, and Brian Klippel of Sharon, CT; five siblings, Ronald Elliott of Millerton, Sandy Edgerton of Ft. Dodge, IA, Patricia Johnson of Ballston Spa, NY, Aurelia Woodbeck of Watertown, CT and Beatrice Martin of Iowa and several nieces,nephews and many friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018, from 9-11am at Faith Bible Chapel, 222 Silver Mountain Road, Millerton, NY 12546. Funeral services will take place at 11 am. Pastor William Mayhew will officiate. Burial will be private.
