Pawling Rotary’s Chocolate Festival has morphed into the Pawling Rotary Fabulous Fall Festival and will take place at Lakeside Park on Saturday, October 13th. “The Festival has secured an impressive variety of both food and craft vendors who will be stationed inside the Lathrop Building Auditorium. Pony rides and a hayride, courtesy of Clover Brook Farm, will be one of the fun activities available for families, along with games and prizes for kids of all ages,” said Susan Stone, Event Chair. Ms. Stone also indicated that Blue Path Service Dogs will appear at Rotary’s event again this year. Their pups are trained to assist children with Autism, and they will be available to meet and greet event participants. Candy apples, Cider, donuts and other seasonal fare and fun will be highlighted. “This will be a rain or shine event,” added Stone.

The Fall Festival is a major fundraiser for Pawling’s Rotary Club, providing the dollars they donate annually to a local organization in support of Pawling’s youngsters. Rotary grants are given to The Smith Johnson Scout Cabin, The Pawling Resource Center and their many family outreach programs, The Pawling Free Library, in support of children’s programming, Pawling Youth Development, The Interact Club, Pawling Public Radio’s internship and apprenticeship programs, The Pawling Chamber of Commerce’s community-wide Tree Lighting event, as well as the Community Day event this past July. Rotary also supports the Pawling Fire Department for its commitment to protecting Pawling’s children and families. Additionally, the Fall Festival proceeds will support Rotary’s third-grade Dictionary Project, two annual College Tours for High School Juniors and Seniors, and the Resource Center’s Stuff the Backpacks and adopt-a-family program at holiday time. Moreover, these dollars assist with annual donations to Rotary International’s Charitable Foundation which supports the worldwide eradication of Polio and to Shelter Box, which provides temporary shelter to families that have been displaced due to natural and man-made global disasters.

Pawling Rotary will release additional information about their Fabulous Fall Festival as Autumn approaches. Vendor information may be found on the Rotary website at http://pawlingrotary.org. Space is still available but limited.
