Obituary, Russell Barrett

Russell Barrett, late of Pawling, NY and Lixnaw, Co. Kerry, Ireland, passed away peacefully at his home in Pawling, NY after an 18-month struggle with brain cancer.

Russell was born in New York City on October 3, 1971.   He was the son of John and Hannah Barrett (both of Pawling, NY).  He is also survived by his wife of two years, Helen Bello who lovingly cared for Russell at home until his passing.   In addition to his wife and parents, Russell is survived by his sister Maura Barrett and her husband Gary Berger,  also of Pawling,  his uncle (and Godfather)  Frank  Barrett and Uncle Eamon Barrett, both in Ireland,  his mother-in-law Beatriz Bello of Bridgeport, CT and many cousins and friends in both Ireland and the US.

Russell was an IT Specialist at his beloved Pepsico in Harrison, NY for over 20 years.   He was a member of the Kerrymen’s P & B Association of New York and a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Pawling, NY.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Horn & Thomes, Inc Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY Tuesday, July 17th 2-4 and 6-8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 18th at 10:00 AM at St John’s Church, 39 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.  Burial will follow in Quaker Hill Cemetery, Pawling, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Russell may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.  Please put “In Memory of Russell Barrett” on the memo line.
